At Baystate Family Dental, we offer both in-office and take home teeth whitening solutions. Over time, it is common for teeth to become stained or discolored. This is inevitable, and is often the result of drinking coffee, tobacco use, red wine, and other foods. With the teeth whitening options available at Bay State Family dental, a brighter smile is a possibility for all.

In-Office Teeth Whitening

In-office teeth whitening is the quickest and most efficient way to a brighter smile. With in-office whitening, the whitening product is applied directly to your teeth. Dramatic results can be seen after the first treatment. In-office teeth whitening is the most popular cosmetic dental procedure today.

In-office whitening—also known as professional whitening, or chairside whitening—takes place under carefully monitored conditions which allow for the safe and pain-free use of a high concentration of bleaching gel. In-office teeth whitening at Baystate Family Dental yields an immediately visible brighter smile.

Advantages of in-office teeth whitening include:

  • Fastest, and most efficient way to a brighter smile.
  • The safest and most effective form of tooth whitening.
  • Better than ever for patients with gum and teeth sensitivity.

Take-Home Teeth Whitening

At Baystate Family dental, you can get the brighter smile you want on your own schedule with take-home teeth whitening.

Take-home teeth whitening involves filling a custom-fitted mouth-guard tray with a teeth whitening solution containing a peroxide-bleaching agent. It is best to wear the tray for a period of time—generally from a couple hours a day to overnight while you sleep for up to four weeks—or even longer depending on the degree of discoloration and desired level of whitening.

A custom-fitted mouth-guard tray also minimizes the whitening solution’s contact with your gums. Over-the-counter whitening products also advertise a mouthpiece tray, but the “one-size-fits-all” cookie-cutter approach means that the fit will not be exact. Ill-fitting trays irritate the gum and soft tissue by allowing teeth-whitening solution to seep onto the gums.
